Description	A photo related to Nashville Mayor Ben West’s tour of Kfar Chabad, when he traveled to the Chabad circa November 1960. Kfar Chabad was established in 1949 and the first inhabitants were mostly immigrants from the Soviet Union, survivors of World War II and Stalinist oppression. The Chabad is located just outside Lod and about 8 km southeast of Tel Aviv, it serves as the headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch Chassidic movement in Israel. It includes agricultural lands as well as numerous educational institutions. Mayor Ben West was in office as mayor of Nashville, Tennessee from 1951 to 1963.
