Eichbaum
was a
Nashville
bookseller
and
resident
for
fifty
years
. The
drawing
on this
page
is
of the
Second
Presbyterian
Church
. This
church
was
built
in
1846
at
Gay
Street
and
Third
Avenue
.
William
Strickland
designed
the
church
with a
Greek
Revival
architectural
style
similar
to that of the
state
capitol
. The
congregation
left
the
church
for a
new
building
in
1902
.
Following
their
departure
,
Standard
Candy
took
over
the
space
and
used
the
old
church
as a
storage
warehouse
until
1979
when
the
building
was
razed
to
make
way
for a
parking
lot
.
