Description	A photograph of Captain James Pierre Drouillard II, the son of Mary Florence Kirkman Drouillard and James Pierre Drouillard. He was born in Nashville in 1874. His great-grandfather was Anthony Wayne Van Leer, the founder of the iron works, Cumberland Furnace. He was an U. S. Army officer, 1st Lieutenant, 4th Tennessee Infantry in 1898 who served in the Spanish-American War. He transferred to the 9th Infantry in 1900. During his youth, the Drouillard family resided in Dickson County. The family returned to Nashville circa 1886 and resided at a large red brick mansion located at the corner of Vauxhall (Ninth Avenue) and Demonbreun Streets. He married Ada Sorg, an Ohio heiress in 1905 and stuck to a military career and upon his retirement became associated with several big manufacturing enterprises. Drouillard died suddenly of apoplexy in New York City in 1923 and his funeral service was held at Christ Church in Nashville, Tennessee. He was interned in the Drouillard family plot at Mt.
