Description	A postcard of the Old Hickory lock and dam located on the Cumberland River twenty five miles upstream from Nashville. The reservoir behind the dam is Old Hickory Lake named after President Andrew Jackson who was nicknamed "Old Hickory." Construction on the project began in 1952 and was completed in 1957. Designed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the lock allows barges and recreational boats to navigate the Cumberland River. Forms part of the Norton Postcard Collection. 1 postcard : col. ; 3.5 x 5.5 in.
