parents

brother
in

to
tell
them
about
his
experiences
in the
Army
infantry
serving
in
Africa
and
Italy
from
1943
to
1945
. In this
particular
letter
Neese
writes
on
American
Red
Cross
stationary
. He
talks
about
being
in
North
Africa
and
relaxing
by the
beaches
. He
comments
on the
makeup
of the
population
,
stating
it
is
mostly
French
,
Jews
, and
Natives
. He
reports
that the
local
children
bother
the
soldiers
for
candy
and
gum
quite
often
,
tells
of the
nice
beachside
building
they have
taken
over
and
transformed
into their
service
club
.

closes
the
letter
by
predicting
the
war
will not
last
too
much
longer

for
