Description	Sixteen excerpts from an oral history interview with Nashville businessman Douglas B. Havron, conducted on 4 April 2007 by James T. Havron as part of the Nashville Public Library's Nashville Business Leaders Oral History Project. In these clips Havron discusses his early aspiration to become the director of marketing for the Ford Motor Company; witnessing the Challenger disaster; his experience working for Angelo Formosa Food Manufacturers Inc., a family-owned produce supplier in Nashville, Tennessee; his impression of the menu and management at the original Houston's restaurant in West End; the quality assurance practices he witnessed while working as a prep cook for Houston's restaurant; carrying over the weekly white bean soup and corn cake tradition from Nero's to Green Hills Grille; Robert Orr's purchase of the original Maxwell House coffee recipe and equipment; his decision to become a local restaurant owner; the circumstances leading up to his purchase of Sam & Zoe's, a local coffee shop located in the Berry Hill community; the growth, success and expansion possibilities associated with Sam and Zoe's; the evolution of his personal definition of success and how it relates to family; characteristics of local business men in Nashville; the importance of competition and location for business owners specifically pertaining to development in the Berry Hill community; his personal management style; and the general public's perceived difference between corporate-operated and privately-owned business.
